My golf career started when I was
still in high school working as a sales representative for Pro
Golf in Oakville. I quickly realized at that time that this was
an industry that I would love to pursue as a full-time career.
In 1986, I went off to college and graduated with a diploma in
Business Administration. Shortly after graduating, I decided it
was time to become certified in the golf industry. I traveled
off to Florida and attended the certification course at Lehigh
Resort in Ft. Myers, Florida.
After working in the golf
industry for several years prior to becoming certified, I was
amazed to find out how little I really knew about the golf
industry. The week in Florida was truly an eye-opener for me,
filled with great information and wonderful networking.
After receiving my certification,
I was hired as a golf shop consultant with the City of
Burlington’s Tyandaga Golf Course. I worked for two years in the
golf shop before being promoted to golf shop coordinator. After
two years, I was promoted to head golf professional where I have
continued in this position for the past eight years.
